Phillip Alfred Dugas

Aunt Doris, John, Debbie and Andy:

I received your card today, which provided me with this wonderful website.  I was able to watch the beautiful service for Uncle Phillip. Thank you for making it available.  You are all in our hearts, as you know, we've been there, and feel your pain.  I always appreciated Uncle Phillip toting Debbie and I from one shopping mall, to the next.  We would shop in Oregon and Washington, sometimes all day long.  Uncle Phillip never complained, he would just say, "whatever you girls want to do".  He would just find a bench and a newspaper, perfectly content until we would come back, ready to move on to the next shopping location.  Then there were the family vacations together...oh what fun we had.  The many holiday get togethers, eating, telling stories and laughing late into the night until we would drag ourselves to bed.  I believe a man of his nature played such a huge roll in providing a healthy, happy environment for such occassions, and for that I am thankful.  We, as a family have nothing to be ashamed of, we have been truly blessed.  I hope that my life can be a blessing to others in the same way.  We love you all, Tim, becky and Hop.
 

Our hearts are heavy, as we heard the news about Bro Dugas's passing,,,We had no idea....we would have been there at the funeral if we had known,,,,,


Bob and I were saved under the ministry of Bro Dugas....Evangel was the first Pentecostal church we had ever been to...I was working where Gloria Hoyle worked, and at the time, Michael and Gloria Hoyle were assisting Pastors at Evangel.,.,.The first time we attended service, in the evening of July 6, 1980. We both were filled with the Holy Spirit,,,,

We spent our first Thanksgiving that year with Bro and sis Phil Dugas,,,,We both still laugh, when we arrived, how Sedwick the wonder dog came flying out over the stairs lol...it was quite a site!!!!  We enjoyed good food and fellowship,,,,that is the kind of man he was,,,so loving and caring, and always making you feel wlecome,,,

The whole Dugas/Allen/Hoyle family took us under their wings, and we grew fast in the Lord....we had our first bus route when we had only been saved a few months,,,,we loved it!!!!!  We were surrounded by strong Christian men and women, and I think that is why we grew so fast,,,,,,

In 1981 we had Becky who is now 31 with 3 children of her own,,,Hard to believe how fast time flies,,,,Bobby then followed in 1983....He is now married.......

We had the honor of sitting under Bro Phil Dugas ministry,,,We were never judged for anything, but loved thru everything,,,,He accepted everyone for who they were and believed in letting God change them rather then any man....I loved this man, still do and feel so sad at his passing,,,,,I know he was greeted by his brothers and sister, along with Gloria Hoyle,...and you all know that Gloria probably knows everyone by name,,,,,

We are not to question God or His timing,,,,but as humans, it is hard to understand at times.....Bob and I were changed forever and I thank God for Bro Dugas and how he lived his life with conviction, and purpose....never judging, always loving,,,,You will be missed,,,,,,We love you
